DO YOU CARE about what’s happening in Lake Worth Beach? Would you like a one-stop source for local news focused exclusively on the people, politics and happenings of the beloved quirky, artsy city known as L-Dub?

Introducing the Lake Worth Beach Independent, a news site hosted on Substack and devoted to the city where I live.

Check out our latest story about potential referendums the City Commission will consider Aug. 19, a move that could lead to voters casting ballots in March on charter changes affecting a massive redevelopment proposal at the beach and golf course.

ByJoeCapozzi.com, the award-winning news site I launched in 2021 after working 31 years at The Palm Beach Post, isn’t going anywhere. It will continue to offer long-form journalism stories you won’t find anywhere else about people, places and events around Palm Beach County and South Florida.

But if you live and work in Lake Worth Beach, or have an interest in my quirky hometown, then the Lake Worth Beach Independent is your go-to news source.

Lake Worth Beach deserves regular coverage that is fair, balanced and fact–based. There’s a lot going on, much of it unreported.

I’m essentially a one-man operation, so I need your help. Reach out to me with news tips and story ideas. And consider subscribing.

Think of Lake Worth Beach Independent as our partnership!

When I’m not hanging out at home in College Park with my wife and our two dogs, I’ll ride my bike to the beach or downtown to watch live music at Rudy’s Pub and the Bamboo Room.

If you see me around town, say hello!
