When it comes to critters that fly, swim, trot and crawl, South Florida is wild and wonderful.

Go back to some of my earlier blog posts to see images and video of a python wrestling an alligator in Big Cypress National Preserve and an animated crocodile and hungry alligator at Everglades National Park.

But first, stick around a few minutes and check out this short gallery of some other favorite wildlife encounters: White-tailed deer and pretty-in-pink roseate spoonbills in the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge west of Boynton Beach... Alligators at Grassy Waters Preserve in West Palm Beach... Dolphins swimming around Ten Thousand Islands... Manatee cruising the Florida Keys... A rattlesnake in Okeeheelee Park South in West Palm Beach.

All photos and video are mine, captured on my trusty iPhone, except for the last image -- a beautiful shot of a bald eagle taken yesterday, March 2, 2021, by my Instagram friend Sabina Coston. (Thanks, Sabina, for letting me share it here.) When you see it, I'm sure you'll agree I saved the best for last.

And...

ACTION!
